In 1936 she became the president of "Women’s Association".
She died at age of 80 on 30 July 1962.In her will she proclaimed:
"I will never forgive women who visit my grave veiled".
After the Islamic Revolution in August 1980
Islamic vigilantes demolished her tomb
and the tombs of her father and brother
who,although men of religion,
had supported her activities.

it's kind of irritating, less than a man's life, things can get too far which u cannot even think of those two conditions belong to one society! and as a woman living in turkey i'm, well, touchy? :)
Everyone should have the freedom to live, think and say what they feel to...
This is not just for Iran, it is for any humans who is living under the restrictions of others narrowminding opinions...
Turkey has been there and I believe it is on its way...
(and I'm sure you've experienced a bit of the same too)
But we must not forget, that europe/scandinavia has been there too...
One dont actually have to look so many years back, to find especially in Norway religios leaders who tried to suppress the population...
The Christianity did their share too...
and like you said...
It's kind of irritating, yes... and I think really really scary how it changed so fast, as you said again:
"less than one man's life"
I have so much hope and dreams for the whole middle east...
that it one day will open up, that the people will forget the bitterness and hate, that people finally understand that we all are same, no matter religion, race or beliefs...
I reckon it takes one or two more generations to see...
I just hope it'll change soon in Iran...
the world needs it!
...and from Iran to Turkey, it will be like a bridge...
